about

Concord Comets Baseball Club (CCBC) has been a part of the local community since 1995. The club was established by parents and is still run by parents and volunteers at our Home Ground in Majors Bay Reserve, allowing generations of kids and adults to enjoy this great game Down Under.Β

Our focus is on having a run, competing in the right spirit, and developing good baseball players who return year after year. We’re proud of the fact that many of our former Juniors continue into Seniors Baseball and eventually bring their own children to join the Concord Family.

Sydney Pitching Prospect Alasdair Ballantyne Commits to McCook Community College, USA

Sydney, New South Wales: Ryde Hawks pitcher Alasdair Ballantyne has taken a significant step in his baseball career, announcing his commitment to McCook Community College in the United States. Ballantyne, whose impressive track record includes representing the NSW Under-16 and Australia U-12 teams, is set to join the college’s roster, continuing his rise in the sport at the international level.

Ballantyne, who previously played for the Five Dock Falcons and Concord Comets, has established himself as a notable player under Matt O’Neil at Ryde Hawks in Sydney. Discussing his decision to commit to McCook Community College, Ballantyne shared his admiration for Coach Olsen’s dedication to both player development and academics. β€œCoach Olsen’s baseball philosophy, his focus on community involvement, and the high transition rate of his players to four-year degree programs were key factors in my decision,” Ballantyne explained.

The recruitment process was facilitated by Ben Moore, who played an essential role in securing offers from several junior colleges in the U.S. Ballantyne praised Moore’s professionalism and dedication: β€œBen’s guidance in creating my recruitment video and his clear communication kept me informed every step of the way. His support was crucial, and I wouldn’t have received the offers I did without him.”

With this commitment, Ballantyne is set to join the ranks of Australian players making their mark in American baseball, bringing his skills and dedication to McCook Community College, where he will continue his academic and athletic journey.

Congratulations, mate! The best is yet to come!
